The Boy I Left Behind
Many of you are probably familiar with "The Boy I Left Behind," a song that I co-wrote with Adam Mitchell and Deryl Dodd. Over the last two years, I've had the pleasure of performing the song at local gigs and at special events, such as the USS Intrepid, Good Morning Texas and Pizza Hut Park. I've also had the honor of being featured twice on CBS. To view, click here for video one and here for video two. Recently, I performed the song on the Pentagon Network. All of this is really cool, but what I cherish the most are the emails I've received from all over the United States. I'd like to share one of those emails with you. Our freedom fighters (past & present) are special people. Because of them, we get to choose how we live in our country.

Not sure if you remember meeting me, but I sure remember meeting you. Loved your music the first time I heard it, but loved it even more when I got your CD. As one who is currently "over there," I cannot put into words how grateful I am for patriots like you who STAND UP and LITERALLY let your voices be heard (and what great voices they are!). I know the vast majority of Americans are thankful for what we're doing over here, regardless of whether they believe in the politics or not. But when guys like you give SO MUCH of your time and talent... well, it's like I said, there are no words for how that makes me feel. I've always believed that much more important than guys like me, who are willing to die for our country, are guys like you who are willing to LIVE for our country. You REALLY ARE the true freedom fighter! Don't let anyone ever tell you (including that little voice in your head) that you aren't making a HUGE difference. Because you REALLY are. I'm SO thankful my niece and nephew are BLESSED to know you and be influenced by you and your family! They and so many like them will see what we do through completely different lenses because of what you do.
